Happy Thanksgiving week, dear sisters in Christ!
Today, I just want to tell you how deeply thankful I am for each of you. I know there have been moments when you’ve felt invisible, forgotten, backstabbed, or judged—the kind of pain that serving others can uniquely bring. But please remember this: you are loved, you are His beloved.
Scripture reminds us of this truth:
"The LORD your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will be quiet in His love. He will delight in you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)
Walking with the Lord is no ordinary journey. It touches every part of your life—your heart, your family, and your very being. It’s no wonder the pain cuts so deeply when challenges come. But here’s the beauty: serving Him also brings indescribable joy. Joy in following, in trusting, and in loving others for His glory. It’s the kind of joy that Jesus spoke of:
"I have spoken these things to you so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete." (John 15:11)
I remember back in seminary, watching those wives work so tirelessly to support their husbands in preparing for ministry. Some were the breadwinners, others were homeschooling little ones, running households, and doing everything they could to make ends meet. They sacrificed in ways that often went unseen—visiting food pantries, stretching every resource, and making sure their families had what they needed. Their sacrifices, big and small, painted a beautiful picture of what it means to serve as a family, pouring themselves out so that the Lord’s work could move forward.
It was such a privilege to serve the seminary wives while I was there. God blessed me in ways I could never have imagined through their faith, resilience, and dedication. Their example continues to inspire me even now.
I mentioned this quote earlier: “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” While it’s inspiring, serving the Lord is so much more than that. It’s not just something you love—it’s a calling, a privilege, and yes, sometimes a sacrifice. That’s why the hard moments sting, but it’s also why the joyful moments bring such fullness to our souls.
My encouragement to you today is this: keep going. Keep doing the good work God has called you to. Take care of your family and make your home a sanctuary of peace, warmth, and safety. Let it be a place where His presence is tangible.
One of the sweetest words I’ve heard from my teen was this: “I love going out, but what I love most is coming home. This is where I feel peace, warmth, and safety.” That, my sisters, is the heart of what we do. Let your home be like the wings of the Lord, where your family finds rest in His shadow:
"He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield." (Psalm 91:4)
As you serve, love, and trust, know that God sees you. He knows your heart and your sacrifices. You are not forgotten. You are chosen, beloved, and precious to Him.
With all my heart, I pray that this Thanksgiving, you feel His joy and peace overflowing in your life. Love Him first, love your family deeply, and trust that He will take care of the rest.
Much love and gratitude for each of you,
Andrea Anderegg
